Service timeframes

Apostille or authentication 7 working days
Birth registration 8 working days
Certificate, printout or source document  15 working days
Add  a parent’s details to a birth record 4 months
Remove a parent’s details from a birth record 4 months
Name change  2 months
Update sex marker on birth certificate 1 month
Investigate a potential error on a record 4 months
Pre-adoptive birth certificate (your own) 10 working days
Pre-adoptive birth certificate (someone else's) 3 months
Status of children search 15 working days

Working days do not include weekends or public holidays. The timeframes above do not include delivery times for certificates.
