Get proof you are not a citizen

You can get a certificate that proves you are not a New Zealand citizen.

Sometimes a government from another country will ask you to prove you are not a New Zealand citizen. This is usually because they do not allow dual citizenship.

You must include a colour photocopy of your passport photo page.

What happens next

The certificate will take about 15 working days.

You can ask for it to be sent to your home or embassy.
