The Audit Office aims to improve trust and confidence in the public sector.

The Office provides Parliament and the public with an independent view of how public organisations are operating and providing value for money.

Under the mandate of the Controller and Auditor-General, the Office:

• completes statutory audits of all public organisations
• carries out performance audits, inquiries and other auditing and assurance services
• provides assurance that public money is spent with Parliament’s authority.
