Social Investment Agency (SIA)

The Social Investment Agency seek to improve outcomes for people through the systematic, consistent, and rigorous use of data and evidence to invest earlier and more effectively.

The Social Wellbeing Agency (SWA) became the The Social Investment Agency (SIA) on .

The SIA has 4 new functions that:

  • set the standards for social investment practice to ensure consistency across government agencies and contracted providers
  • advise on and facilitate the creation of the data and evidence infrastructure for social investment
  • work with other agencies to apply the social investment approach
  • lead an ongoing review of social sector spending to measure outcomes.

And is still responsible for their previous functions to deliver:

  • cross-social system advice and support for the social sector with cross system work
  • insights, tools, and practices that improve cross social system decision making for improving wellbeing.
