Climate Change Commission

The Climate Change Commission is an independent Crown Entity. The purpose of the Commission is to provide independent, evidence-based advice to Government to help Aotearoa New Zealand transition to a low-emissions and climate-resilient economy.

They do this by:

  • providing independent, expert advice to the Government on mitigating climate change and adapting to the effects of climate change
  • monitoring and reviewing the Government’s progress towards its emissions reduction and adaptation goals.
