Youth Court
The Youth Court deals with criminal offending by young people that is too serious to be dealt with by the police in the community.
Young people aged between 14 and 17 who are charged with a serious offence will go to Youth Court rather than the District Court or High Court. The Youth Court does not deal with murder, manslaughter and traffic offences.
The Youth Court is a division of the District Court but is independent of government.
