Crown Regional Holdings Limited (CRHL)
CRHL is a government-owned company within Kānoa – the Regional Economic Development and Investment Unit. It holds and manages loans, equity and other asset investments for regional development.
CRHL’s key objectives are to:
- be the legal entity that takes over Kānoa investments
- always follow its own constitution and management agreement with the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment (MBIE) when dealing with those investments
- supervise and monitor the performance of MBIE’s obligations under the management agreement
- subject to compliance with the Companies Act 1993, distribute the receipts or proceeds of any Kānoa investments to shareholding ministers, as agents of the Crown, unless otherwise agreed between CRHL, MBIE and shareholding ministers
- give commercial advice to the relevant Ministers about new investment opportunities that Kānoa has reviewed under the Regional Infrastructure Fund and the Wood Processing Growth Fund.
