The Border Executive Board makes sure New Zealand's border system is effective by:
- positioning New Zealand to have a safer and smarter border
- addressing gaps or future risks from people, goods or crafts arriving at the border
- managing border-related budget challenges that are caused by changes to the ways costs are funded.
