Pre-trade training helps you get knowledge and practical skills and a taste of working in a particular industry. It shows employers you’re ready for an apprenticeship.

Help with training fees
If you’re doing work-based learning or an apprenticeship, check if you’re eligible for Fees Free. It covers the fees for your final 2 years of work-based learning — up to $12,000.
You’ll need to pay your training and assessment fees as you train. Once you have completed your work-based learning programme you can apply for Fees Free.
You need to meet the eligibility requirements to get Fees Free.
