Inland Revenue
Te Tari Taake
Inland Revenue collects most of the government’s revenue and administers a number of social support programmes.
Inland Revenue collects taxes for the government to fund its programmes. They also issue IRD numbers and provide the government with tax policy advice.
Inland Revenue is also the agency that delivers a range of social policies such as child support, Working for Families, KiwiSaver and student loan repayments. These social policies help increase fairness and improve outcomes for New Zealanders.
